Bispen, Nordryggen

Spectacular steep walk to the top of a very iconic mountain with a great view of the Trollstigen

Google maps road directions: here

Drive the Fv 63 Trollstigvegen and park in Strupen - about 200 meters further on than the restaurant. Follow signs for Bispevatnet.

The trail is marked up to Bispevatnet, then from Bispevatnet the trail goes to the right of the lake, the path is marked with cairns. The path goes around towards the saddle between Kongen and Bispen and then follows the north ridge of Bispen upwards. There are many wrong trails so it is important to follow the cairns and red markings to be sure to stay on the correct one. There are some small steep steps and very easy scrambling. Just before the top of the ridge, the path heads right to avoid a steep section and then up the ridge that leads the top. On the way back down it is important to follow the cairns and red markings, as there are many tracks leading to dead ends.
